HAC Team Members
Our Assistants are normally (though not always) Apprentices undergoing training to become Qualified Hairdressers. They’re learning their trade in the Salon and at College. From the very start under supervision, they will be learning and practising the skills they’ll need, be it colouring or blow drying and later on, cutting.
When ready, they’ll be working at a standard that allows them to provide support (especially colouring and blow drying) to other Stylists. By the time they qualify, they’ll already have an established Client base and their own Column.
Rachel joined HAC in October 2016 previously worked as a Science Teacher in several local schools. She’s making great progress in her training towards her NVQ2 in Hairdressing.
Jess Joined HAC in October 2017. She’s already qualified at NVQ Level 1. She will be gaining experience in the Salon and then continuing to complete her Level 2. She’s already exhibited a flair for colouring.
Graduate Stylists are recently fully qualified Hairdressers (at NVQ Level 2 or above). Based on ability and hard work, we would normally expect Graduate Stylists who have undergone apprenticeships with us, to be promoted to Stylists within a short period.
Jenny joined HAC in the latter stages of her training and gained her NRVQ in Hairdressing in Autumn 2015. Jenny is already running a busy column with repeat Clients. Aside from Hairdressing, Jenny’s other passion is her Dogs, Horse and Chickens! Jenny joined HAC in May 2015.
Shannon joined HAC in May 2014 and qualified as a Graduate stylist in August 2016. Shannon is a creative Graduate Stylist with a particular flair for Colour work, often colouring Clients on behalf of Sara Antoniades.
Shannon is also a qualified Caflon Ear Piercing Technician.

Sara opened HAC in November 1995. She originally started hairdressing in Salcombe before continuing her training with Vidal Sassoon’s in London. She worked as an Educator for Jingles International and Joshua Galvin (often dubbed as “Vidal Sassoon’s right hand man”). She’s travelled widely and educated hairdressers in Canada, China, New York, Tokyo and Paris. Vastly experienced, she’s worked at the highest levels in the industry including Cat Walk shows for Christian La Croix at the V&A and session work for many hair and fashion events in London.

I just love my job! – Sara Antoniades
A note on Job Titles
There’s no unified system of Job titles in Hairdressing. A hairdresser in a small quiet Salon may title themselves as a “Creative Artistic Director” but may be less skilled or experienced than a “Stylist” in a Salon where the culture of training and expectations of the required standard of hairdressing are at a much higher level.
We want you to leave us looking and feeling fantastic...
